Scientific Committee

The European Operating Room Nurses Association has established a Committee to be known as the Scientific Committee (SC).



The purposes of the committee:

To lead and inform the creation of the complete Scientific Programme for each EORNA congress and to ensure a Scientific Programme of the highest quality.

These purposes will be accomplished through the following objectives:

  • To ensure the guidelines for handling abstracts are reviewed and agreed for each congress
  • To establish criteria for abstracts
  • To evaluate and grade abstracts
  • To select oral and poster presentations
  • To design the Scientific Programme
  • To plan and implement the Scientific Programme
  • To establish evaluation forms for speakers and moderators
  • To select and co-ordinate moderators
  • To select of the best paper and poster of the congress

Work processes of the committee:

The SC members work in collaboration with the Organising Committee and the Professional Congress Organisers at each time to ensure there is equitable access to submit abstracts form all member countries and guarantee that an appropriate process for the evaluation and display of the Scientific Programme is established for each congress under the supervision of the Scientific Committee. Ensure that the industry workshop programmes are relevant and agreeable.
